WEST END BEACH

The Port Jervis Recreation Commission

will open West End Municipal Beach on

Saturday, June 21, 2008(Weather Permitting!).

The beach will be open daily from 11:00 am-7:00 pm and will close on Friday, August 22nd.

Note: Beach is subject to closure without notice.

All bathers MUST follow beach rules and regulations!!!

The Port Jervis Recreation Commission

will open two (2) Supervised Playgrounds this summer

Church St. Park and Riverside Park

Beginning Thursday June 26, 2008.

This program will end on Friday, August 15, 2008.

New Supervised Playground Hours

Monday-Friday 8:30 am- 5:30 pm

Lunch will be served at each playground location each day at 12:00 pm. Plus special event Fridays each week!!!

YOUTH CENTER

10:00 am-5:30 pm Monday-Friday

Lunch will be served at the Youth Center each weekday at 12:00 pm.

Children ages 7-18 may sign up at any of the two playgrounds or at the Recreation office. CHILDREN UNDER 7 YEARS OF AGE MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR A BABYSITTER (16 years of age or older) DURING PLAYGROUND AND YOUTH CENTER HOURS!! Permission forms will be distributed to children and need to be returned to Recreation staff.

Tennis Tournament

The 2nd Annual Port Jervis Open will take place the week of August 4, 2008. Male and Female age divisions. Trophies to winners! Registration will take place at the Youth Center beginning Monday July 7, 2008. For more information contact the Recreation Department at 845-858-4045 or speak with tennis instructors.

Youth Center Special Events

Mondays beginning July 7 “Tournament Day”

Tuesdays beginning July 1 “Game Day”

Wednesdays beginning July 2 “Arts and Crafts”

Thursdays beginning July 3 “Bowling League”

Fridays beginning July 11 “Movie Day”

All Youth Center special events will start at 1:30 pm. Bowling League participants must bowl a minimum of 5 weeks. Participants MUST wear sneakers when bowling.
